Creative Block sucks Donkey Balls!!!!!! FOR REAL

To clear my head during the day I’ve been retreating to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (Thursday are FREE!) and at night to deal with the insomnia I’ve been recapping a childhood show of mine, Sailor Moon.

Bout a month ago I got to the metaseries of the Sailor Moon saga where the Sailor Scouts faced a new enemy, the Dead Moon Circus. The graphic abstract blocky lascivious whilsical quirky fanatasy domain and characters who are pretty sweethears which move back & forth from deadly narcissistic, troubled and fraught. Funny funny and then sad.

Between the museum in the day & Sailor Moon at night, flashes of images began to appear. A perfect mix of what in an earlier post I confusingly searched to put into words the confusing & annoying picking at my brain state I found myself during my last few months of my senior year in college. Of which I began to become bored with my drawing style and things not remotely looking like how I saw them in my head & looking like WTF on paper. The mix of what I refer to as “The Random” & “The Real”.

Love’em or Hate’em you GOT to give the man props. MR. WEST IS A VISIONARY GENIUS! A CULTURE FORWARD PUSHER!! END OF DISCUSSION!!

The only MC/ Artist that can get away with a 90sec video which words can not describe the beautiful amazing visual stunning jaw dropping oooozzzz and silence that his video “Power” leaves viewers in. Not to mention his October 9th Saturday Night Live performances of “Power” and “Runaway” that of course in that Kanye West way keeps people watching and wondering ”WHAT THE FUCK WILL KANYE DO NEXT?”

Without going into one of my famous rants about Hip-Hop & the Masses and how the Commercialism Mainstreaming of Hip-Hop has changed the music which has left us with artists that are more concerned about “branding” themselves FIRST then making music (I at first typed “then making good music”, but didn’t find it fit in this sentence). I myself at one time turned a deaf ear to my older brother’s preaches of “What happen to Hip-Hop music” and ”the last great Hip-Hop song was Warren G’s Regulators, cause it told a story”, every time we would turn on the radio, but now take to heart and now preach myself. I will just say

“THANK YOU MR. WEST FOR BRINGING GOOD MUSIC BACK TO THE MASSES”

In a state

So for a while I’ve been racking my brain with the images from my previous post and images from Sailor Moon Supers…. Weird

Anyway, I’ve been in a state of figuring out a medium between playing with real (my editorial style) and fiction.

Sorry if this sound confusing, I am in a confusing state.

Ohhhhh reference

A while back (more like a couple of years) I was surfing the net and I came apon some website that had a bunch of retro Marvel Comic images. (I will try to find the website again & list the images on my FFFfound site). I copied them to my home computer and thought nothing of it.




About year ago I came across them when I came home for the holidays and my mom told me to get my junk off the computer.

I’ve always found the X-men characters appealling because even as a little girl I have been in love with the way they were drawn.... And the storyline was sweet too.

I’ve found when people see my illustrations they tend to use these words:
1. beautiful
2. retro feel (in a good way)
3. pin-up
4. Glamour
5. pretty girls
6. Sketchy
7. Line work based
8. Egon Schiele

So i guess me being drawn to these images shouldn’t be a surprise.

I definitely think these have been a point of reference to me lately.

Something for Chi-town

So like back in late June I was hanging out in Chicago O’Hare Airport (not really hanging but waiting for my plane to St. Lou).

Anyway, a lady saw me drawing and wanted me to do an illustration for her new place.
